Represents Copthorne and Worth Ward
Mike Livesey joined the Council in 1993 and is Chairman of the General Purposes & Finance Committee. He served as Chairman of the Council from 2003 – 2005.
He and his wife, Ros, have lived in Copthorne since 1978 and have been involved continuously with village issues, including running the 11-14 age Church Youth group for 15 years until 1999 and as an active Committee member of the Village Association (currently acting Chairman) since 2002.
He was elected to Mid Sussex District Council in 2003 and is a member of the North Area Planning Committee and Chairman of the Performance & Scrutiny Committee.
He was instrumental in obtaining the pledge of £86,000 from the District Council for the new Copthorne pavilion and takes a keen interest in planning matters to ensure Copthorne and Crawley Down will retain their village characteristics and not lose their strategic gaps or common land.
A Chartered Accountant, he works full-time for a large multi-national company(although due to retire in October!).
