Crawley Down Ward - Chairman of the Council
Neville Walker came to live in Crawley Down in October 1973, and became a Councillor in January 2001.
His main interest initially being the provision of facilities for young people in our two villages, but he soon realised that Amenities applies to all ages which makes this branch of Council work so interesting and rewarding.
He was elected Assistant and then Chairman of Amenities and then the given the ultimate honour of being asked to become Chairman.
He says that It has, in the past nine years been a privilege to work with Councillors, who have produced so much, with so little (money) - two skateboard parks, football field drainage and a proposed new pavilion at Copthorne, a new car park and CCTV in Crawley Down and now a new Website, and he looks forward to being involved in future initiatives planned for the benefit of our communities.
